I was so anxious to read this book, after reading the very last page of the previous book, just to find out what really happened to his Mom. I have to say, my first thought was that she tried to commit suicide, which thankfully was not the case. I also have to admit, it was harder for me to warm up to Nate, just because of the way he treated Arion in the previous book. However, I was glad that he did his best to move on from her, even if he used Andrea (who looked a lot like Arion) to help him do so.You have to feel for the guy though. He left his family and girlfriend, joining the military to make a better life for their future. Then, he is captured, tortured and held prisoner for over a year while his family is told that he was killed. When he finally makes it back home, he has lost one of his legs, his girlfriend has moved on with someone else, and she doesn't come back to him.
This is a story of survival and the horrific scars (mental and physical) that he has to deal with. He has to deal with his mother's MS and is terrified that he will lose her as well. When he finally meets Elania, he is taken by surprise, since she looks nothing like Arion and he actually 'feels' something for her. Of course he wants sex, but with her he wants even more. Again, LK kept me on the edge of my seat and I could hardly put the book down long enough to eat or go to the bathroom. Although this is the third book in this series, it can be read alone.

I don't normally write a comment on a book but this book did not do it for me. For one the start off was to slow and drawn out. The story line was good after it reach mid-book and then dropped off at the end. I think the epilogue if you can call it that is just another chapter. Between the ending and the epilogue there were a lot left out that I would have like to seen wrapped up better..I read the first two books in this series and I really liked those. I was a little disappointed in this one....

I think I would have have given this one full stars if I had been aware it was the third in a series, which I didn't, and that's not the author's fault. Even though it was difficult because there was so much I didn't know, I enjoyed it. Nate! What a good guy, underneath it all. The part with his mom was emotional, it was really touching. I just wish I had read the first two first. Live and learn!
Loved this book. One of the best I have read in a while. Introduced to Nate in Every heart, I was very excited to read his story. Nate was a troubled veteran with PTSD issues. Elaina had a troubled past of her own. Together, they learned to trust and love again. A beautiful and realistic love story. A great follow up to Every Soul and Every Heart which I also loved.
Sometimes books with the reality of the aftermath of war on the body and psyche don't really work or feel forced. However, this one seems to work. The characters are flawed yet richly developed and set into a fun to read storyline.
This one was a pretty good read...kept me reading for the most part..these two characters have been hurt and Nate more than most ...going through what he went through ...it was good to see him get some healing mentally ...good story and read...Recommended!
